ABOUT US
“Potato printing has been around a long time” is the quote that started it all. Owner, Tracy van Ravensway started to make the prints for her two small children. After many compliments and encouragement from her family and friends, she turned it into a business in 2008. The business allows her work while raising her children. Her kids love to point out what animal or figure is being painted and provide lots of inspiration for the designs every day.
Using real potatoes in the printing, Tracy hand carves potatoes into various shapes, paints the potato and stamps the shirts to make cute and colorful designs. Using a potato makes every design different from the next. The prints vary depending on the grain of the potato that is used that day and how it is cut. It makes for a special and unique print. The designs are colorful and fun.
Tiny Tater Tees started out with the organic onesies, tees, growth charts and knick knack sacks. The items came out of a need for unique, cute and functional items. Tracy could not find what she needed, so she made them. “Tracy has always been creative”, says her mother. The organic cotton fabric and canvas used to make the items are hard to find, which makes them truly different and environmentally friendly. Organic and eco-friendly products are important for the future of children.
Tiny Tater Tees has been at many local and regional farmer’s markets. “The reaction of the customers has been wonderful”, says owner Tracy. “The best is when a customer comes back to tell me how much the child loved my products. It gives me great joy.”
Tiny Tater Tees products have been enjoyed by children everywhere.
